Reading groups in local congregations are adopting Souls in the Hands of a Tender God to encourage an understanding of homelessness and mental illness, stimulate conversation about mental illness, explore how to build mental health ministries, and foster caring community neighborhood by neighborhood. If youd like information on how to organize a reading circle centering on Souls, please contact David.
Craig and David have prepared a study guide, titled “A Conversation about Faith and Mental Illness,” that helps individuals and faith communities focus on the central issues of caring for our brothers and sisters who are suffering. The authors are interested in developing study guides for other groups such as healthcare consumers, families, professional groups, and seminaries. If you or your organization would like to partner with us in such an effort, we'd love to hear from you.
The study guide is available as a PDF file (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader). Please click here to download the file, and feel free to print as many copies as you need for your reading group.
SEMINAR GUIDE
The Rev. Bob Dell, of Pathways to Promise, has prepared a PowerPoint outline of Souls in the Hands of a Tender God, which he used to stimulate conversation at a recent pastors seminar. The slides are a good tool for any study group, and we are pleased to make them available. To download a copy of the file, please click here.
